Oct. 17th sure seems a long way away before I can see my doc. for the first time since finding out I have 1a/hep c. is it just me?

No its not just you! There is an awful lot of "waiting" goes on with hep c tx. We always seem to be wait, wait, waiting.... waiting to see a doctor, waiting for blood results, waiting for the pcr date. It's all waiting I'm afraid, better start getting used to it!!

pcr date? what if you would, plz, does that stand for? Yes, I've waited this long, a little while longer ain't so bad. I can sometimes be the worst at keeping my dr.'s appts. Not on purpose though, but I am rearing and ready for my appt on the 17th. No more procrastination...no more rig-a-ma-row...know what I mean?

It is an extraordinary thing being told you are hep c positive.... the absolute pits really. I was no sooner diagnosed then I started treatment, then I found out I was Genotype 1a and facing 48 weeks tx. My hep c journey has been a catalogue of errors from the start. But, incredibly, I have an undetectable result at 4 weeks which is a rapid viral response and should stand me in good stead for an undetectable at the end of treatment - but there are never any guarantees with this disease and many people have felt the same as me only for the disease to test positive again post-tx.
Thes best thing you can do is to get started on treatment as soon as possible, zap the little blighters, and get on with the rest of your life. Don't be scared of treatment. I have found out that we are very well looked after, mostly it is very boring!!
